Released as the first post-Blip MCU installment, Spider-Man: Far From Home takes place shortly after the events from Avengers: Endgame. With Thanos defeated and Tony Stark dead, Peter Parker returns to high school and tries to bring his life back to normal. We find him and his friends preparing for a school trip to Europe. At the same time, a new global danger arises, as the element-based creatures wreak havoc across the planet. Peter’s plans to take a break from being Spider-Man take an unexpected turn when Nick Fury recruits him to fight the new threat. He reluctantly joins the new enigmatic hero Mysterio to discover who’s behind the latest attacks.
One of the most beloved Marvel characters, Spider-Man is a superhero alter ego of Peter Parker. While still in high school, Parker gained superpowers after getting bitten by a radioactive spider. Using his newly-gained abilities, he started to fight crime and injustice on the streets of New York.
His superhero exploits don’t go unnoticed for long and Parker eventually gets recruited by Tony Stark and joins the Avengers. He develops a close bond with Stark and at the beginning of Spider-Man: Far From Home, he takes some time off of his superhero duties as he mourns the death of his mentor. However, the new threat to humanity forces him to get back into the spider suit. He spends most of the movie balancing his heroics with trying to win the heart of Michelle Jones.
The story of Mysterio begins with Quentin Beck who used to work at Stark Industries. Skilled and inventive engineer, Beck was especially interested in developing holographic technologies. He played a major role in creating an illusion tech prototype that he believed could change the world. However, Tony Stark saw him as an unstable and untrustworthy employee and took control of his project. Eventually, instead of changing the world, Beck saw his invention used as a mere therapeutic device and himself fired from the company. Bitter and disgruntled, he teamed up with other disappointed former employees of Tony Stark to plot his revenge. Using Beck’s patented hologram technology and combat drones they created a new superhero – Mysterio.
In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Nick Fury finds himself without the level of control he was normally having. Resurrected by Hulk, the founder of the Avengers learns Spider-Man’s true identity and sees Peter Parker as a valuable asset in the post-S.H.I.E.L.D battle against world threats. After witnessing the destruction caused by the element-based creature, Fury meets Mysterio and recruits Peter Parker to fight alongside the new hero.
Played by Cobie Smulders, Maria Hill is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. Deputy Director and exceptional, bright, and tough-minded agent. Pragmatic and level-headed, she was often a voice of reason in S.H.I.E.L.D offices and in the Avengers organization. Maria, along with her former boss Nick Fury, was among those who vanished as Thanos completed the Infinity Gauntlet. After being brought back to life, she continued to assist Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
May Parker, portrayed by Marisa Tomei, is Peter Parker’s aunt and widow of his late uncle Ben Parker. She practically raised Peter by herself and was for long unaware of his secret identity. Once she learned that he’s actually Spider-Man, aunt May slowly came to fully support her nephew. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, we find her engaged in charitable work as she helps Blip victims find a new home. Also, she gets involved in a romantic relationship with Happy Hogan.
Harold “Happy” Hogan is a long-time personal bodyguard and best friend of late Tony Stark. He’s also a long-serving Head of Security in Star Industries. He had a hand in Stark’s mentorship of Tony Parker. although he constantly appeared annoyed by the young superhero. After Tony’s death, Happy in many ways assumes his role as Peter’s mentor and gets closer than him. He helps him fight the Elementals during the European trip and gets involved with Peter’s aunt May.
Michelle Jones, or MJ, is one of the students in Peter Parker’s high school. Initially reserved and introverted, she mostly enjoys mocking her classmates, Peter Parker included. However, with time she develops a close friendship with Peter and his best friend Ned Leeds. Michelle is also Peter’s long-time secret crush. During the trip to Europe, the two of them bond even further, as Michell helps Peter in his fight against the Elementals.
Peter Parker’s best friend, Ned Leeds is a nerdy and fun junior at Midtown School of Science and Technology. He’s also one of the rare people who knows that Peter is Spider-Man. He often assists Parker in his adventures while also trying to raise his social profile by associating with Spider-Man. In addition, he’s Peter’s confidant in matters of love and the only one aware of his crush on Michelle. During the European trip, Ned begins dating Betty Brant.
Eugene “Flash” Thompson is another one of Peter Parker’s classmates and sort of a typical high-school smart-ass. He constantly mocks Peter’s claims to have worked with Tony Stark and that he knows Spider-Man. On the other hand, Flash himself idolizes and admires Spider-Man. He spends most of the European trip live streaming the excursion including the attacks from the Elementals.
Betty Brant is a junior of Peter Parker and a love interest of his best friend Ned Leeds. She’s also in charge of school news and has a chance to report on numerous Spider-Man adventures.
One more Midtown School of Science and Technology junior, Brad Davis is another student interested in Michelle Jones. He spends most of his time on the European trip competing with Peter for Michelle’s affection and trying to embarrass him.
Roger Harrington is a member of the teaching staff at Midtown School of Science and Technology. He’s a science teacher and also runs Academic Decathlon Team. Roger acts as a chaperone on the school’s trip to Europe.
Julius Dell is another Midtown School of Science and Technology teacher. Serious and reliable, Dell is a bit stiff which makes him a perfect partner to Roger Harrington as a Euro trip chaperone.
Jason Ionello is Peter’s Parker’s classmate and co-host of Midtown News along with Betty Brant. He’s one of the students that was vanished in the Blip and later resurrected.

Gutes Guterman is a part of the team which developed Mysterio and Elementals, mostly in charge of creating stories of Elementals’ background.
